Mack has wanted Texas to be a mirror image of Nebraska since he got there, that is a true compliment to our fans, team and state.

Texas did not do anything but try to win every game they have played, just as we have. They have no responsiblity for the 01 that seems to drive this hatred. They did not set the game at Jerry world.

They come to support their team, nothing more. We are beginning to sound like SCUM fans and that is very disappointing.

I too, am at a loss.

 
The hate I have is, despite two games, all the other games have been decided by 4 points or less, and we have lost em all. I just hate seeming them walking out with a close win, no matter how well we do. But FWIW i heard on Unsportsmanlike Conduct, in all but one game between NU and UT the team that had more total yards won the game.

 
I think a lot of it has to do with Nebraska entering the post Osborne years (and steady decline) as Texas came into the new Big 12 on the upswing. The timing couldn't have been worse for Husker fans and more perfect for Longhorn fans. Couple that with the fact that most of the games have been very close losses, and it is understandable that the frustration and animosity has built up in the Nebraska fan base over the past decade. Last year's loss certainly didn't help.

Additionally, if you throw in things like the offices moving to Texas and the frustration of seeing the original Big 8 members always seeming to side with Texas in conference matters, it just seals the deal.

Fortunately, the Huskers have the opportunity to exorcise their demons in one fell swoop. If we win on Saturday, this past decade won't seem quite so bad. I hope that we show their visiting fans respect while in Lincoln. It'd be a shame if a few knuckleheads put a black mark on our good reputation--and believe me, the media will be looking long and hard to find those knuckleheads to manufacture a story of how "the greatest fans in football are no different than anybody else."

Also, with the exception of one game, the team with the most points at 60:00 won the game.

But that is not their fans, who are very close to our fans in loyalty and dedication. The fans in the stands this weekend are die hard, and dedicated to their team. No bandwagon fans follow a two loss team into a suspected third loss.

They have love for their program, team and University, no different than us. They deserve our respect, a good butt kicking would work, but under no circumstance should we lower our reputation in the slightest. And there will be a lot of media looking for that story.

We have not beaten them in our house since 1933, even before my time, so it is time make up at least one game.

Please treat their fans as we would want to be treated at their house. It is the Nebraska way.

 
I suppose a reminder doesn't hurt, but I don't think Bo really needed to bring this up. I just assumed everyone would be loud but not threatening to any Texas fan or player.

They must be really worried about this. This was sent out yesterday. For most Nebraska fans this goes with out saying. As usualI am sure some jerk will act up, same with the Texas fans.
