I know a retired liquor distributor who gives me a heads up when stuff I drink goes on sale somewhere.10-4. Will keep an eye out. At $80, that's probably a steal. I almost spent that on the 12.

How does he know if he's retired?I know a retired liquor distributor who gives me a heads up when stuff I drink goes on sale somewhere.
He knows most of the liquor reps and liquor store managers. I assume he talks with them or plays golf or whatever. How does he know if he's retired?
I don't remember a significant smoky flavor. I had a glass of the Glenfidich and then this to compare. I think this is smoother than the Glenfidich. I'll try it again this afternoon and let you know if something sticks out.How smoky is it?

OK....Maybe I need to find a bottle of good JW.Great stuff, have a bottle myself! Love it.
It's not really. This is the base scotch before the blending for Johnnie Walker so it tastes familiar if you know JW.

This tastes nothing like the crap JW I've had.
It just amazes me that JW could make a really good Scotch if their red label is so bad.
Man, I haven't had a JW since my early 20s. And it was red label and I thought it was good.
