Bowl Games

Ive only been on this board since july so i havent talked about it before. What do you folks think about the xtra bowl games that keep being added each year. Love it Hate. I personaly am tired of the lame bowls. I know teams get money and we get to see more football but theres got to be some type of a cap on this. Pretty soon theres gonna be a tampax bowl.

Don't worry about the Tampax bowl brother. They would never invite NU and its "Sea of Red!"

I don't like the amount of bowls that are out there right now. It kinda takes the pride of going to a bowl out of it IMO.
I whole heartly agree. When a medocer 6-6 team can make a bowl theres something wrong with that picture. Sorry but there was a time when going to a bowl was a great accomplishment. Now not so much.

I love watching college football, and I love how from a few days before Christmas through early January there is at least one game on nearly every night.

For some non-BCS conference schools and some perennial doormats it is still special to make any bowl game. For others, the major (now BCS) bowls have been the big deal and the lesser bowls have always meant less.

I don't see what the big deal is about the new bowls. You don't like them--don't watch them. There's not a lot else going on in the sports world that they are bumping from TV anyway.

to go all teams should have at least a winning season..otherwise it is just "filler" for the holidays........JMO.

It's a reflection of a society that loves to reward mediocrity in an effort to not hurt the feelings of those that don't quite measure up. At the very least could they make it so that only teams with a winning record get a bowl game birth....geez...

correct me if I'm wrong but I think there are 34? bowl games and only 120 teams so over half of the teams in the fbs get awarded with a bowl game I just think it would be better if fewer teams went to post season play.

It's ridiculous, they need to cut the number of bowl games by half.

And quit giving them stupid names. The names used to reflect the identity of the host city and now they don't mean anything.
