Actually, I re-read what you posted, and it appears you did get it right, and it was just HNNick that was off in assertion. That's exactly what I've been saying, or at least tried to say. What did I say wrong?matthew_m_g said:VAHuskerfan, HuskerNationNick, you're both reading it wrong. The Rose is required to pick an at-large team (read: 14th or higher in BCS standings), and that's it. No PAC-12 riders, no special consideration, nothing--just pick a fraking BCS at-large qualifier.
My apologies. I apparently need to work on reading comprehension.

And I read Brian Rosenthall's Journal-Star article this morning saying that an OU/NU Rose Bowl is very unlikely. Problem is, his scenario, like any other one pulling for Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl, is that Oregon goes to #1 in the BCS standings, which isn't likely. Since K-State will be playing that same week as Oregon's title game, and likely against a ranked foe (Texas, IIRC?) to boot, there shouldn't any change if both teams win out.
And of the teams that could choke, I would expect Kansas State to do so over Oregon. KSU is very much overdue for their yearly inexplicable meltdown...and if they're out of the mix, guess who takes their spot in the Title Game? Notre Dame, assuming they win out.
Notre Dame is, at best, the third most likely opponent we'll face, with Oklahoma (all three winning out or KSU losing) and Oregon (Oregon loss) taking the #1 and #2 spots.
