I'd love the Dukes Mayo Bowl as it's a close drive. I am really happy we are not waiting until game 12 to see if we are going bowling.Big Ten Bowl Ties, Affiliations
Consider it a mortal lock that the Big Ten champion is in the College Football Playoff, and almost certainly with one of the top four spots with a bye.
The Big Ten alternates with the SEC between the Las Vegas Bowl and Duke's Mayo Bowl. Last season Northwestern beat Utah in the Las Vegas, so assume the Big Ten will be in the Duke's Mayo.
This is the expected Big Ten bowl pecking order, but keep in mind that 1) several of the top teams in the expanded 20-team conference will be in the College Football Playoff and 2) there might be a LOT more Big Ten bowl tie-ins and affiliations coming as the season goes on.
One other twist: the former Pac-12 teams - Oregon, UCLA, USC, Washington - will remain eligible for the former Pac-12 bowl ties and affiliations. That means if any of those four aren't in the College Football Playoff, they'll be eligible for the Alamo, Independence, Holiday, LA, Las Vegas, and Sun bowls.

i would hope this team is still focused on making the playoffs. finishing the season 4-0 is not impossible. if notre dame is in the discussion at 5-2 then i don't see why we couldn't get there also.
That Minnesota team has three very winnable games left on their schedule. They could very well end up with eight wins.I mean Notre Dame gets way too much credit way too easily (as do we), but for starters their losses were early season, 1 and 3 point losses to top-10 teams. We have lost our games more recently, and and 18 point loss to a Minnesota team that probably ends up 7-5 is not exactly a quality loss. 4-0 would be awesome (not happening, but it would be cool), but we would have to completely dominate all 4 games for the committee to overlook the loss to Minnesota.
notre dame's best win is usc who will not be ranked if we beat them. would make no sense for us to be 10 spots behind them if we were to beat USC. minnesota is in the upper half of the big 10. not a completely terrible loss on the road.I mean Notre Dame gets way too much credit way too easily (as do we), but for starters their losses were early season, 1 and 3 point losses to top-10 teams. understood, but don't you have to factor in quality of wins too? our cincinatti win should count more than 2 close losses against good teams.I'm not saying Notre Dame would deserve to be in, they only have 3 good teams on their schedule (4 if you believe in Pitt) and went 1-2. Just saying if we're comparing the losses there's a big difference between losing at Miami by 3 in the opener and losing by 3 scores at Minnesota in mid-October.
