Bowl Projections

Stewart Mandel of si.com has us not in the BCS, not in the Cotton, not even in the Holiday, but in the Alamo Bowl.

Nah, Alamo bowl is Big 12 No. 4.

If NU wins out, and ends with a 9 and 3, that will put us behind UT and OU probably. Why wouldn't NU then go to the Holiday bowl.

Holiday Bowl

San Diego, CA

Qualcomm Stadium

December 28, 2006, ESPN

Pac 10 No. 2 vs. Big 12 No. 3

Bowl Projection: California vs. Nebraska

I'd have no shot of seeing that game, but that would be an awesome matchup.

Yeah but a Cotton Bowl rep this weekend said that they want a north team for that bowl, and we are the best north team. If we lose to UT, we will play there imo.

I project Fiesta or Cotton.... We can lose this weekend, It doesn't matter anymore. All we have to do after beating Mizzou is beat Colorado, and we are in the Big 12 Championship no matter what representing the north.

We will go in against Texas, Yes they beat us last time, But all i know is we are gonna be pissed for that game. No doubt about it. We'll see if they get as lucky as they did in Lincoln in the Championship.

It will partially depend on what other teams from other conferences go where. If USC ends up in the holiday bowl, there is no chance we go there.

I really hope we go to the Feista, and get a shot to take out Boise, but if we cant get texas, it is Cotton, Alamo, or holiday, depending on where other teams end up.

I originally predicted 10-3 and a trip to the Cotton Bowl, but the third game I thought could be a loss was the Big 12 championship. Didn't think it'd be Okie State. That loss may have hurt their chances for the cotton bowl, but not if Okie state beats OU or A&M loses the next two. Also, could be interesting if OU wins out. They could get strong BCS consideration if some other teams fall as well.

We have no chance to go to the Cotton Bowl. NONE! A&M or OU is headed there. Two reasons for this.

#1 The Cotton is pretty loyal to its Old Southwestern Conference roots

#2 If Oklahoma doesn't collapse they will go. The Cotton doesn't want to piss OU off because they don't want the OU-UT game to leave their site.
