Bowl Projections?

There are a lot near the Cotton Bowl as well, and we've had better luck recruiting Texas than CA.
Right, but we'll already be there in two weeks. We'll cover more ground playing in a different bowl.

Bottom line, though - let's just play in a bowl game. And do well.

The Holiday's other conference tie is the Pac 10, so possiblity of a Nebraska-USC matchup? Probably Arizona though...

Just saw this on the 10/11 Strong website:

Holiday Bowl and Alamo Bowl representatives are both interested in Nebraska's post season future, visiting Memorial Stadium for Saturday's contest against Kansas State.
With a win over K-State, an NU appearance in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl becomes a definite possibility. The BCS gets the first choice of a Big XII team, followed by the Cotton Bowl and then the Holiday Bowl.

"Nebraska's at the top of our list of teams we're looking at right now and we'd love to have them back in San Diego. It's been 11 years since they were in San Diego and we still remember the Sea of Red in San Diego and we'd love to see them back," said Holiday Bowl rep. Gary Rectenwald.

If texas wins out they will likely be at the national title game. which would give the fiesta to osu. then we would get the next best bowl..which would be holiday correct? which is a bowl of more prestige, cotton or holiday?
The part in bold is possible, but not automatic. The Fiesta doesn't have to take a Big 12 to replace Texas, it can fill with whoever it wants that is eligible.

And, I'm pretty sure as others are saying, the Cotton has the next pick.

I'm hoping for the Fiesta or Cotton, I'm traveling the night of the Holiday.

Fiesta > Cotton > Holiday

^^ I'll take it in that order given whatever circumstances we're dealt after Dec. 5th.

theyll still find a way to pick Notre Dame for the Fiesta slot, so im saying holiday bowl

:dunno

Same here, actually. Plus, I really, REALLY want no part of Stanford right now. LSU in Dallas would be pretty sweet. Great (double) exposure in the metroplex area, plus I'd LOVE to see Mr. Suh chasing Jefferson down all night. :) :star

I'm thinking the Oregon/Oregon State loser in the Holiday Bowl or LSU in the Cotton. But we all know it will be TCU in the Fiesta!!

My bad. You're right. The tiebreaker procedure in the pac-10 is complicated, but basically the odds are heavily on the Civil War winner going to the Rose, and the loser going to the Holiday. The stars would really have to align for the Cardinal to get second. I wouldn't mind OSU, but I'd REALLY like to take on LSU in Dallas. From what I saw yesterday, I think we could do pretty well against them.

I know allot of people think this is a pipe dream, BUT

we have a legitimate opportunity to punk Texas and then Boisie State in the fiesta bowl.

Lets not put the cart before the horse though, I want to see a dominating a**kicking in boulder first.

I saw some projection last night that had the Horns in the NCG with the Pokes getting an at large bid to the Fiesta (providing they beat the Sooners) and the Huskers in the Cotton. The Fiesta Bowl has had a long tradition with the Big 12 and will more than likely want a Big 12 team. A lot will depend on how the rest of the season plays out.
