That was actually a great play on their part! The coached raved about how great of a play that was. It was supposed to be a run and that's why Allen and Turner are on the line. But Martinez saw a mismatch with Bell and the defender. So he called an audible. If either of those two guys went down field it would have been a penalty. Heads up play by those two!

Absolutely. Pretty sure last year it would've been a train wreck. This group of WR's are looking good so far.

Also, if you watch the play, right after the audible, both players immediately look to the sideline and Fish is yelling a them to stay put.

The outside receiver Allen could have gone downfield, but probably wasn't sure so he just stayed in along with Turner. They didn't have to stand like manikins, but I guess the position coach just yelled "freeze." Pretty funny... probably a bit confusing for those cornerbacks too.
