Brion Carnes to transfer...

What was his trouble with the QB position to begin with? I forget.
There was a question on why we didn't see Carnes more in 2011, and I believe it was Beck who stated that Carnes needed to learn the playbook more, and he wasn't understanding how to manage the offense. It wasn't those exact words, but basically what was being said. I think he was also having problems reading defenses as well. If this position was just based off of throwing and running, he could have been a contributor, because he can do both. Unfortunately, he couldn't do more.

Guy at work knows his cousin and I guess Tommie flat-out said Brion doesn't have what it takes upstairs to play qb. I didn't figure wr would work out, it's hands-down the deepest position on the team. Hope things work out for him elsewhere. Glad we have schollie space open and supposedly we'll be getting some more space soon.

I believe I remember it the same way. Unfortunately for him, it just didn't work out. Fortunately for us, I think we have some very capable players to take his place.

Completely agree with you. Armstrong and/or Stanton will be the new face of this offense that will take us quite a few steps forward from where we have ever been IMO. I think Stanton will be the best QB we have had in a VERY long time. Premature I know, actually very premature, but something about that kid sets him ahead of any other kid we have recruited at QB.
