No they still count, just a wee bit dated even compared to our near 20 year drought. Just like all of Oregons count....ohhhh....sorry.Minnesota's NC's don't count because they occurred before NU got their first
Wiki says you guys have 7. Including 1960 when you went 8-2 and lost in the Rose Bowl. Seems very SEC-ish if you are claiming that one.everybody knows my name said:I don't even know where Minnesota's six NC trophies are, so I'm sure I can't find Nebraska's!
Still not as bad as Alabama, or even A&M.Wiki says you guys have 7. Including 1960 when you went 8-2 and lost in the Rose Bowl. Seems very SEC-ish if you are claiming that one.everybody knows my name said:I don't even know where Minnesota's six NC trophies are, so I'm sure I can't find Nebraska's!
1960 was in the days of AP and UPI polls. One did not include the results of the bowl games so it was a regular season champion. This is how Texass claims a Natty in 1970 when Nebraska won their first championshipWiki says you guys have 7. Including 1960 when you went 8-2 and lost in the Rose Bowl. This game is actually more of a historical rivalry really. You go back into the history books and Minnesota and UNL played each other a ton. Of all the programs we have a relationship with its Minnesota. So really this is a rivalry similar to like what we had with KU, except Minnesota has actually won NC's.Army_Allen said:I like the Minny trophy. It's genuine, and came about in a real creative way. The rivalry isn't there but the desire for the trophy could potentially spark one...huKSer said:Before we joined the B10 NU had one trophy that nobody knew about or cared about (Victory Bell with Missouri)
Now we have one trophy ($5 Bits of Broken Chair Trophy) and two excuses for corporate sponsorship (Hero and Freedom) that nobody knows about or cares about
