Well, might not be a big deal to you, but it is pretty annoying. With ESPN having the power they do, their Heisman watch is pretty important in swaying the national opinion over the course of the season. ESPN has an "Experts Poll" every week where a bunch of their writers vote their top five for the Heisman race.

Bruce Feldman, who lengthily mentioned Suh in his blog Friday, said this:

I know this -- he'll be in my top five this week because I doubt there are five better players in college football.
Well, the new Experts Poll was released following yesterday's games, and guess what? No votes for Suh. Not even from Feldman. Even Jahvid Best, still on the fumes of preseason hype, managed one fifth-place vote (Best is 18th in rushing ypg, and 41st in ypc). ESPN's current board consists of seven QBs and four RBs. No other positions.

EDITED - Nevermind. I see the compilations on the bottom there.

I'd like to see them justify leaving these guys off their lists after those articles, too. Weird.

they are voted form the 15 espn experts.

Tim Griffin is also one that got to vote on the list, who also talked about how Suh and Shipley should be on peoples list.

"Shipley and Suh deserve Heisman consideration. After their performances this weekend, the Big 12 has two unconventional players who I think merit consideration for college football's most prestigious award. Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is the most dominant defensive player in college football. Suh has to be accounted for on every play, making game-changing statements like his interception return that sparked the Cornhuskers' wild comeback over Missouri. And Jordan Shipley is just as important for Texas, becoming one of the Longhorns' primary forces as a receiver and a returner. Shipley accounted for a career-high 273 all-purpose yards against Colorado, producing 11 catches for 147 yards and a 74-yard punt return that was his second TD return of the season. Most of the media will consider Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy and Jimmy Clausen and stop at that. But to this point of the season, it can be argued that Suh and Shipley deserve strong consideration -- and not just from voters who might be thinking of out-of-the-box ways to present the award."

Yet both of those players stayed off his list. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk.

The updated time must be wrong, because they talk about Tebow's performance against LSU and show all the stats from yesterday's games.

I'm a little confused because as it talks about each player it does have thwre stats uodated but just below that it has this description of tebow so I'm not sure if the votes are updated or not.

1. Tim Tebow, Florida: Tebow has continued to be the most inspirational player i college football through the first few games of this season, but it will be interestin to see how he responds from the concussion he suffered against Kentucky a couple of weeks ago. Will he play against LSU? Will he even be the same player if he does play? Tebow has been known for his bruising, no-holds-barred style, and he becomes tentative because of his injury, it could severely alter his ability to make a repeat trip to New York. 2. Colt McCoy, Texas: Every time yo

:ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh
:laughpound

Why does everyone overemphasize the Hypesman?

Used to be it was just an award at the end of the season..

Now it gets mentioned before the season even starts.

It's usually the kiss of death to the winner..who more than likely ends up playing for Al Davis

Unconventional?

Suh - defensive tackle

Shipley - white receiver

Never heard a guy like Tim Brown called unconventional <_<

Don't worry about it. At this point of the season it doesn't matter what ESPN thinks. Once the season gets along then I will care.
