BTN Bus Tour

Not much talk at all on the RB's, s little bit on Bell, but that's it.  Thought they would've gone into the depth at that position.

It was a pretty low-impact practice - day after a scrimmage.  Tough to get much of a read on the running game.

Did anyone catch the part where Stanley Jackson said that the Blackshirts needed to improve and said he caught flack from Husker fans for it?  That has to be made up.  No one with eyes would have argued about that.

Martinez's burst on the QB keeper.....

There's just something so right about hearing that name called on a big play. I'm going to enjoy that again.

I thought the same thing. Hard to win a game no matter how good your offense is when you're giving up 54 to a Minnesota team that was shut out the very next two weeks in a row

I think last year they said the blackshirts needed to improve and maybe we should do away with the blackshirt name until they start playing like blackshirts.  That part is what fans probably had a problem with but I'm just guessing.

Maybe, i need to go back and analyze what he said again, but took it as something HE said directly recently and got flamed by Husker fans.  I do know that Dinardo said we shouldn't have blackshirts anymore, but maybe Stanley was referencing what Dinardo said in the past.

There has been a lot of praise from folks that are straight shooters, whether that's by our own staff or outsiders. Yeah, it's the job of a guy like DiNardo to hype teams so we will watch the games, but he's pretty good about lacing that with a dose of reality.

The next two weeks will be interesting because we can capitalize on being ahead of schedule. We have some creative coaches and the next two weeks will tell us how creative they can be based on what the team can absorb. I like how Frost is talking about moving Akron prep up a few days because that suggests to me he's comfortable with where they are at.

Now that this has aired, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do for the next 2 weeks.

Thoughts from Dinardo, which Howard also agreed/said, that stood out to me, I am paraphrasing  a lot so don’t kill me on exact wording:

1) This team is as good or can compete with any team we have seen (which includes Wisconsin), and in the West has a legit shot but has to have some good fortune due to schedule difficulty

2) The practice they saw today was one of the 2 best they have seen thus far, and the BEST considering this was #14 and day after a scrimmage. Seemed REALLY impressed with tempo and speed of practice despite normally seeing tired legs at this stage. NO EVIDENCE of tired legs for DONU today

3) Talent finally appears to resemble the on paper top 25 recruiting classes, first time they can say that since covering DONU

DiNardo has been a pretty straight shooter in the past so I am struggling not to shove an IV of Koolaid in right now
