No he doesnt qualify because, 1, he wont be out the rest of the season (at worst he will play in a bowl game) and 2 the limit for football is 4 games, and he has played in all 5. So no he wont get one, he just has to sit and watch. And my source says 4-6 weeks, so hang tight guys its going to be awhile before you see #22 again.

If this rumor is true, it seems that Rex will be back this season. If Rex is hurt worse and misses the rest of the year, he cannot get a medical redshirt. Heck Ricky Thenarse got hurt right at the limit of the allowed playing time during a season to get a medical redshirt, no way Rex could get one.

Pelini said "I don't know how long he will be out, everyone heals differently, he'll be out for awhile."

he wasn't clear on whether it was a broken bone or not.

 
bo didn't say whether it was broken or not, he just stated he will be out for a while. Everyone heals differently.
