Bush league invites to other husker board

Hey guys - I apologize for the spam you've been receiving from some hack "inviting" you to his board. It would be one thing if he were an active and contributing member, and merely wanted to share his site with us; but for someone to sign up for the express purpose of harvesting member contact info is unacceptable.

I've suspended his account and informed him of his violation (#6 in our board rules. His response was "it wasn't spam, just offering my board.." Right. FYI, here is the definition of spam: "All unsolicited email and unsolicited bulk email that a recipient did not elect to receive."

I certainly have no problem with our members posting on other boards or sharing other husker sites, but responding to bush league methods like this only encourages people that using shady techniques is the way to go. Let him build his board from the ground up the same way we did. Please just ignore this clown, and let me know if you guys receive any other messages and I'll report him to his ISP.

Good call Blackshirt - let the guy linkshare if he wanted to just offer his board (no reason the love can't flow both ways).

It's dang hard building up a BBS and getting a name out in a community, especially one as nationwide as Husker fans. It isn't cool to just swoop in and leach off the efforts of others without giving something back.

Nah, that was just plain ol' spam. That happens occasionally. This guy joined to email our members. Didn't post message 1.

LIke some of the others said not only did the email have some of the worst grammar ever (yes even worse than formerfan and benard AR Husker Fan & yes worse than Ar Husker fan Formerfan - ) but the site was equally as lame. And yes youre right i also do consider that spam and low browed what he did, so Im glad you called him on it Blackshirt. Keep up the good work and thanks for keepn this place top notch!

Not to get off topic, but I must say that entire thread (from both of us) got really pretty ridiculous and a waste of everbody's time. :wasted
