Bye Week Pressers

If it was truly on individual performance and best player in the nation, hard not to give him a look. Dude has quietly lived by the mantra of "rise and grind" and statistically one of the best backs in the nation. Not to mention hos pass catching ability and TD's as a receiver. And throw in this has been done with2 different QB's and a rather average OL.....

It would be in his absolute best interest not to come back. He's been lucky not to have rack up many miles until this season, and to be injury free. I'm not sold on him being a really good NFL back, but if he's going to do it he should start as early as possible to save his body and get those 10 years in before it breaks down.

If he does come back I'll respect the absolute hell out of him.
How much would he make in the NFL compared to at Nebraska next year?

The big difference is the pension anymore.

Read article in SI talking about even if he goes later rounds (Mel Kiper Jr has him as #8 RB to go) and even at this he'd be guaranteed a rookie contract just north of 2 million. Unsure how untrue this comment is, but they said RB's are not making that in NIL. As NIL is held pretty tight hard to prove or disprove.

REF salary from article:
Josh: Yes, exactly. And like we looked at the Cam Skattebo contract because he was the eighth running back drafted last year. He had like a million guaranteed* and that was all signing bonus. Plus, he got a million dollars this year for his salary. So that's two [million dollars].

*The official numbers can be found here: $1,073,040 in guarantees, $840,000 salary in 2025.

Running backs in the portal; as much money is being thrown out there in college football these days, a running back is not going for $2 million. So already you are making a whole lot more money in the pros. And then of course the other thing is you are then one year closer to your second contract, which is the one where, if you're getting off to a good start and you have a good NFL career, that's where the real money would be made.

I think his durability and low mileage are attractive. Throw in doing it against P4 teams in the B1G, rushing and receiving etc he's an attractive get. AA has had a long career. He's bounced around and has a net worth around 8 million. Not bad.....

And so much the bolded. Nothing but mad respect.

This year the rookie minimum is $840k ($50k/game). A 4th round pick would be around $950k ($56k/game). But that assumes you are on the active roster all year. If you are on the practice squad that is $12,500/game.

But as you said, accruing service time to get the pension is a big deal.

He would also get a signing bonus- size to be determined.

It is hard to say what is best. The easy answer is to leave. The only thing I think he needs to improve is breakaway speed. I also see occasionally he mis-read the lane at about 8-10 yards. They has been a few times where there was one more cut to make, but he was already battling for the first 8 yards.

Interesting to hear him say we're actually starting with 2 days of Iowa gameplanning this week because of the short week to follow. I'm sure that happens all the time in these situations, but if we lose to Penn State somebody is going to accuse the coaches of looking ahead. Hoping some guys flash this week and make surprise appearances over the last couple of games.
If I HAD to choose, I’d chose smacking the eff out of Iowa

And that someone would be proving they are idiots.
