Callahan to Pittsburgh?

So wait a minute, Frank Solich goes 9-3 & Pud fires him, but Pittsburgh's coach goes 5-7 & he retains his job? The way Pud operates doesnt seem to make much sense IMO

 
He also extended Callahan's contract...Remember how well that turned out. He doesn't have a clue. Just because Pitt beat WV, does not a season make! Just because we were in the Big 12 title game last year (and lost), does not a season make!

Callahan did an excellent job and was 5-7. Puddy knows talent when he sees it. Solich may have had the better record, but he didnt have the 4 and 5 star athletes.

Puddy knows what he is doing.

But wasn't Wandstandt PUD's first choice here?!? When he turned us down he then tried to get Nutt and others before he finally found Billy C.

I believe you are correct. Callahan was about 5th or 6th choice after Zimmerman of the Cowboys and I think Al Saunders of the Chiefs.

I think Wanny is PUD's favorite no matter where he is.

West Virginia is to Pitt what Oklahoma used to be to Nebraska and what Ohio St. is to Michigan. I'm not saying it's as big of a rivalry but it means more to those two teams than it does to the rest of the nation.

Pedey definitely falls in the "too arrogant to learn" category. He is stll pimping his guys no matter the on-the-field product.

He is fortunate that Pat White got hurt, thus getting Pitt that win. Ya Pitt still played solid D but they wouldn't have won against a healthy White.
