Callahan to release depth chart on Tuesday

I have a feeling the depth chart will be in pencil the entire year. I do not think being a "starter" will have all that much meaning this year.

My guess the RBs will look like this

1. Lucky

2. Wilson

3. Glenn

4. Jackson

I'm actually more excited to see where the WRs fall into place, where will Purify be, also Chris Brooks was hyped a lot last year and never played will he play this year? I guess the WRs will be like this

1. Nunn

2. Swift

3. Purify

4. Peterson

5. Brooks

6. Hardy

I don't see Peterson being quite that high on the reciever depth chart. He will get some plays every game but I look for Hardy and possibly Brooks to be ahead of Peterson.

if cally is smart, and there truely is little seperation, they ALL need to see the field this year.......you DON'T want anyone to walk at the end of the season.........

I agree with not wanting to let any of these talented RBs get discouraged by a lack of playing time, but it is kind of a double edged sword. You want one or two backs to set the tone of the game and get consistent looks. The other side is that there will be fresh legs most of time and keep the defense on their heels. I know Cally has said we will establish the ground game better this year, but we have implemted a passing offense as well, so 30-40% of the plays will be to the WR/TE. So whoever is behind ZT better know how to pick up blitzes and protect as well.

Just a gut feeling but I say Wilson emerges as the complete package by the time we play USC, Glenn will be seeing significant playing time as well. Lucky will fall back as return specialist and BJax being left out. I love 'em all but just trying to be realistic.

Good luck to all and may the best man take it....... :restore

Haven't heard much about Brooks, so I am not sure I would pencil him ahead of Peterson. I think Peterson and Hardy will get a good number of reps after Nunn, Swift and Purify. I think those 3 will be on the field an awful lot. Holt may get some reps, as the same with Brooks. Chris Brooks hasn't showed enough to really be considered much of an option as of yet. He has tremendous potential though, hopefully it is realized this season at some point. :restore

At the same time, we are not really hearing all that much about Peterson either. He seemed to benefit from his length last year. But with Purify and Holt in the mix, he might not be used in the redzone quite as much as last year.

against La tech does it matter?
If you can't get it right against the "little guys" then it really matters. This should be a good game for honing their skills.
exactly. ask *any* team that's played fresno state: just because they aren't a bluechip football program mean they won't eat your lunch if you give them half a chance.

every game matters. not only for the win, but for the practice and execution.

This game will probably be worse than practice. They are going against one of the top defenses in the country in practice, and LA Tech won't come close to that. It will basically be a glorifed practice in front of 80,000 fans that counts as a win.
