Coaches do need to watch what they say. Take the dumbest team in America remark. It didn't hurt until the players responded back in public. Something that the Raiders never used to do. They always kept their little squabbles in the lockeroom. It was the big reason why it was a mistake on his part. He lost the team after that episode. He even included himself and the staff when he make those remarks but the damage was done.
Remember the "only one game ... one season" remark? Another no-no. You knew that one wouldn't fly. Its never just another season around here. Learned that one the hard way.
Then his famous "whachu talking about Willis?" response to "Slashgate".
I think B.C. is learning to be a little more careful about what he says in these things now.
