If you think Zach Taylors numbers were due in large part to him and his wonderful athletic brilliance as opposed to the schemes and offense put in by Callahan, ur foolish.
If Mr. Taylor was so damn good there would be talk about him and the NFL, but as it stands now he will be lucky to get drafted and to even make a roster.
Scouts, not me, say he cant run, he doesnt have a good enough arm to make the necessary throws.
Keller can do both.
Oklahoma, Taylor had to throw, he was awful. Texas not so good, Auburn just as bad.
We were sixth in rushing because they geared up to stop our run. We were fourth in passing because we threw so much.
There is no point in arguing. You are going to skew all thoughts, rationale, and stats to side with you and that is fine its your opinion.
Mine is different, i dont think Taylor was very good, and next year you will see a whole different offense without the second half struggles. When that happens you can come on here and say YES Cally learned how to coach and I CAN SAY, YES see what happens when you have a good QB, it will never be settled.
Finally i think you are closer to being full of $hit than me.
Love ya though, after all you are a Husker Fan
Nobody in their right mind would equate Taylor's abilities to top tier NFL caliber QBs that are in the draft. However, that does not mean that Taylor was not an excellent COLLEGIATE quarterback. I remember Major Applewhite - my favorite collegiate player of all time (yeah...and he wasn't even a Husker!). I loved him for the same reasons that I love Zac - poise in the pocket, leadership, willing to take a hit, smart decisions...just a tough nut. It amazed me that Mack Brown started Sims instead of Applewhite when Applewhite was a senior. Sims undoubtly had more athletic skills but all the untangibles that makes a great quarterback were missing. Then in the Holiday Bowl in 2001, Applewhite subplanted Sims and engineered the greatest rally in school history (down by 19 points). That was perhaps my favorite performance from a football player on any level. So before you try to take Zac Taylor down because he didn't have the greatest mobility (okay.... no mobility) and a gun for an arm, just remember that he has led this team successfully the past two years. I have no doubt that, if it weren't for Zac, we wouldn't have been nearly as successful the last couple of years. Zeller may have all the weapons, but the jury is still out on whether he can lead this team.
As far as your comment that I 'm "closer to being full of $hit" then you, you're probably absolutely right. I have no monopoly on "the truth".
