Callahan's challange

They had 12 men on the field. I guess the TV camera's didn't catch the CU player running off the field when the ball was snapped. He was a good 3-4 yards from the sideline when we snapped the ball. If they would have over turned the play we would have gotten a first down.

You could tell Cally wanted to kick the everliving sh#t out of them. Good for him. Dan Hawkins and his goonies don't deserve one ounce of respect.

right, i was talking it over with a guy who was the game. this is what he saw...

nebraska looked like they were going to go for the first down but then sent out the kicking team. i *looked* like callahan was trying to fake out hawkins again by keeping him guessing.

when callahan called the challenge, he was banking on the fact the colorado was confused and *might* have had 12 men on the field.

who know, colorado might have had more than 12 players our there. the camera doesn't show everything and it was nuts down there for a few moments.

bottomline according to the eyewitness: cally was looking to trick the buffs... again.

Over on huskerpedia, one of the guys was at the game. He said as the ball was snapped, one of the Buff players was running full steam for the sideline, and had jumped in an attempt to make it out in time. Said he was probably still in, hence the challenge. But, the camera didn't catch it, so no dice. Not that it really mattered in the end.
