Is there any mention of Stoltenberg's size? Seems undersized for a DT at 265.

Yeah, someone on a different board a little closer to the program than a lot of people said he was up close to 290. Don't trust any of those weights on the roster sheet. He came into the program at about 265.His weight is up a lot now. IIRC 290.Is there any mention of Stoltenberg's size? Seems undersized for a DT at 265.
Exactly. We might not have the most dynamic DEs but both DTs should have to be double-teamed a lot of the time so the DEs should get a lot of one-on-ones which will help. And that should free up the LBs quite a bit. Here is the thing. If the DLine is a force, that opens up a whole new slew of potential for our LB's, and DB's.
IMO, we have two DT's that can potentially need double teamed. The way I envision our DL is that opposing offenses will have to bring in help from backs to protect the QB on throwing downs. Taking more routes out of the equation downfield. Which, gives our LB's and DB's in coverage less stress.
Gotta watch for screens but if we can occupy 6 guys with 4 upfront, on just 40 percent of the time. We'll be alright.
I'm so glad they are moving Stoltenburg to DT. They are bulking him up to do so.Is there any mention of Stoltenberg's size? Seems undersized for a DT at 265.
OWH>> Hughes provided an brief update on the backup defensive ends: Freedom Akinmoladun has all the physical skills, A.J. Natter has taken a significant jump (after missing spring with an injury), Joe Keels keeps getting better and Sedrick King has "done a nice job." Ross Dzuris is emerging among that group. Why? "He's a smart player, he's a coach's son and he works at it," Hughes said.
>> Hughes likes the potential of Mick Stoltenberg, the 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive tackle who's flashed at times so far in camp. Stoltenberg's next step? Mastering technique, Hughes said.
In Banker's defense, if the RB stays in to protect, the LBs are blitzing. Here is the thing. If the DLine is a force, that opens up a whole new slew of potential for our LB's, and DB's.
