I hope they're splitting the playing time opposite Gerry this year.So in 2 years we will be starting Williams and Williams at Safety. That won't be confusing at all.

OWHI'm not quite sold on this unit. What one thinks in preseason is one thing. What one sees in camp is another.
Perhaps its the safeties. Does Nebraska have two clear starting safeties? It has in Nate Gerry - who's been beaten a few times in pass coverage. Who's the second? Byerson Cockrell? Aaron Williams? Keiron Williams? Charles Jackson? There are strengths and weaknesses to each. Given the importance of safety in this defense, Nebraska needs to find consistency there. Another safety Antonio Reed, could be in the mix, and may play as a true freshman on special teams.
LJSDefensive coordinator Mark Banker said Thursday that Williams has "improved quite a bit" in the span of just the last four days. "His biggest thing has been not so much knowing, but when you play back there off the ball like the safeties do and ask them to do, your vision and the discipline is very, very critical."
Banker felt Williams has improved in that aspect after struggling with it initially.
"I know one thing: Whether he's actually gaining knowledge from it or not, from Day 1 he's been someone who has been in the film room whenever he's had a chance, studying film, studying himself," the coach said.
Banker said it's "a real close battle" with Kieron Williams and true freshman Aaron Williams, who has impressed coaches since arriving in Lincoln in January.
Senior Byerson Cockrell is also in the competition, but has been eased into work this fall after having shoulder surgery coming out of spring practice.
