Im sorry, but this is a dumb argument. Do you think Oklahoma is whining about how they never run the option anymore???? The option became obsolete when defenses got fast. You cant run an option against a good, aggressive, fast strong safety. That is why almost nobody, with the exception of Air Force and some other low and mid level teams, run the the option anymore. Some teams utilize their quarterback in the running game, due to an excess of athleticism at that position, but they dont run the option the way Nebraska did. They run quaterback draw options that take advantage of the other team's speed by having the DE run himself out of the play. Now if Nebraska tried to run that with a more athletic quarterback, I would have no issue with it.
