After the 61 yd punt he booted today, i went to look up the record for longest punt in NU history. Its Mike Stigge from 1992 punted the ball 87 yds.

So im wondering how many people here think that Henery can punt the ball that far...

Here are the top punts.

1. Mike Stigge vs. Oklahoma St., Oct. 10, 1992 87

2. Sam Koch, vs. Pittsburgh, Sept. 17, 2005 84

3. Kyle Larson at Texas, Nov. 1, 2003 80

4. Sam Koch, vs. Wake Forest, Sept. 10, 2005 76

5. Jesse Kosch vs. Arizona St., Sept. 16, 1995 74

6. Dan Hadenfeldt vs. California, Nov. 26, 1999 73

Darin Erstad at Oklahoma, Nov. 25, 1994 73

7. Kyle Larson vs. Troy St., Oct. 4, 2003 71

Kyle Larson vs. Utah St., Sept. 7, 2002 71

8. Sam Koch, vs. Maine, Sept. 3, 2005 70

Dan Wingard at Missouri, Oct. 19, 1985 70

Of course, the pro record is 98 by a Jet, might have been in the AFL. Get a wind and/or a roll, and it happens. On my HS JV team our punter hit an 85 yarder, and we downed it at the 1.

Henery might be able to coffin corner it tho.

Alex Henery can kick the ball clear 'round the world and knock the returner down when it lands.

73 of the craters on the moon were caused by Alex Henery practicing his punting after dark.

Alex Henery once punted the ball, ordered Jimmy Johns, ate it, and still had time to brush and floss before making the tackle on the returner.

Alex Henery doesn't punt. He launches.

I know a few people who played with him in HS, and the stories of HS practices are pretty ridiculous. Yes, he can kick it over 80 yards. The word on the street is he can place kick over 50 yards with his left foot as well.

or so says a friend of a friend.

When I watched him kick that ball i could tell it was going far because he put everything he had in that. It was probably the best punt i've ever seen in person...especially having it bounce sideways FOR THE SECOND TIME at he 1. :ahhhhhhhh

No, he's not a distance punter, he is a precision punter.

Yes he gets a couple deep ones every once and a while, but overall it's not his strong point.
