Can Osborne still coach for bowl game?

Given that Pelini has been fired, I'm wondering who will coach Nebraska's bowl game. I think it would be great to see the old coach at it once again, and might help with the transition period to a new coach.

Why tarnish his legacy? Alvarez coached the bowl after Bielma left, cool for the players but just dropped another L on his record. Tom would have to be a head coach in theory. These arent his guys or his players.

Yeah he can coach and I'd like to see it, but will he want to? What purpose does it serve?
Well, for one, the players would get up for playing for him. It would help provide a sense of calm as we try to land our final recruits. And it would help add a positive vibe for our new direction.
I suspect SE has his coach in waiting and we'll hear something soon. But having Osborne on the sideline one last time does nothing for the direction or vibe for this program

Alvarez coached the Big Ten Champion Badgers in the Rose Bowl. Hardly the same as whatever craptastic game the Huskers are headed to. Sadly, it needs to be Beck for one more game.

All you "can Osborne coach" guys are almost sad. You dont even realize how unrealistic that is. The man is retired. That ship has sailed. When a man like Osborne says he's done, he's done. Respect it and embrace the situation. At some point the new guys have to step up and be leaders. Let Osborne enjoy his retirement won't you?
