can the Huskers do it with the WCO?

what bc did last year,IMHO, was to install the WCO with players that could not execute the system. he had to do it, in order to attract recruits for the future, but he sure sacraficed the season. if he would have coached and played to the stength of his players, the WCO never would have gotten off the ground. hence his attitude of "we take what we want" not what the defense gives us. strong words, tough attitude, but no chance to make it happen. i agree with many here, a smart coach takes what the defense gives you......why bang your head against a brick wall, when you can jump over it? now even with the WCO, one would think that execution would be based on the opposing teams weaknesses, right? if you can run AND pass, why wouldn't you spend more time doing what the opposing team could not stop? surely he is smart enough to look for the physcial mismatches, just as is done in the pros?.....that is how games are won, by exploiting your opponents weaknesses.......and above all, avoid turnovers, don't beat yourself

FF,

No excuses in 2002. I guess not Frank just fired half the staff. Now of course they were not fired for any failures ya think.

You have yet to answer my questions. Just squawk and put down what others write, never bring anything but garbage as ususal.

First of all Frank replacing half the staff and removing himself from the OC is called taking the steps to improve. See, when he MADE the changes he TOOK RESPONSIBLITY for the failures and made the changes necessary to rectify the problem. Do you honestly think that cally would ever "fire" himself, ie remove the O-co-ordinator duties from himself the way that Frank did? No, and hell no, he is way to conceited to admit his own failure. This was the worst team in the past 40 years of NU football but the only significant changes he plans on making is moving a few players around the field :WTH Is that YOUR idea taking responsibility? Just more of the same, cally putting the blame on others.

The only garbage being thrown about is by pud, cally and co., and their ilk. And if you honestly believe the crap that cally said in the Lincoln JS article, then I have a great ocean-front condo right smack-dab in the middle of Cherry County that I can sell you. Its a steal :woo !!!

BTW, what questions have I not answered? Chances are I have, either right after they were posed, or in the past. Chances are you were unable to comprehend the answers laid forth in front of you. Unfortunately, I cant put together graphs, charts, or a PowerPoint presentation to help you, so I will try to slow down a little for you, OK?? ;)

So ask me the questions that I supposedly did not answer. Got it!!! :thumbs

I agree with your assessment of what cally did, I just dont agree with him doing that. At a proud, traditioned program like NU, you dont throw away a season just so you can display your s****y offensive and defensive systems. You dont trash 40+ straight years of winning and over 100 years of great football tradition just to try to prop up an offensive that never has worked on this level, and frankly probably never will.

That just shows callys' arrogance, conceit, plain ignorance, and lack of knowledge and respect for NU, . He crapped on all the things that NU once stood for, and shrugged it off with his famous, "Just one game, just one season." horse-s**t line. :WTH

If anyone can accept that garbage :steam , then they are not a true Husker fan.

Gee, talking about:

"You have yet to answer my questions. Just squawk and put down what others write, never bring anything but garbage as ususal."

That is a perfect example. Thanks, Pillen :thumbs

The problem is that I try to make you do the impossible, which is think for yourself. :woo

Wow I'd say Mr Williams got his answer and then some! I dont login very often or post, but I read frequently and I just wanted to say that this discussion has been very impressive. This is the type of stuff I come to this place for so bravo to all of you!

The Huskers will do it with the WCO, most likely not in the near future, but sometime down the road, when the system is in place, and we have and entire team recruited for the WCO system, thats when the sacrifices of this team and the next few teams will be made into success. Patience will be important for fans in the next few years to let the system settle before putting unreasonable demands on the huskers.

I agree. We are going to bet better every year. Have patience. We are one of the most storied porgrams in College football and we will be in the hunt for the national championship in three years and I bet we win it all in the next 5 years.

If the team improves each year and we get closer to the NC, he will stay as our coach. He should bring alot of success to our program.

So what if BC starts winning 9, 10 games regularly, gets into the Big XII title game, just can't get by TX or OU yet goes to average to above average bowl games each year. Lets say he does this for the next 5 years, and is always a loss or two from the NC, maybe even goes to 1-2 BCS games, but loses the bowl games. Do we get rid of him then?

He will have done far more than Tom Osborne did in his first 6 years. Plus playing at a much tougher time in college football.

If any coach does what you have laid out he will not be fired. I would be very happy with a team that won 9-11 games a year, played in a BCS game on a regular basis and once every 10 years played for a NC. That is where college football is headed. SC may prove to be able to do the 3 pete this year, but that type of dominance will end with that team. Parity is here and it will be a lot of fun to watch.

I agree sker's fan. Soilch had success, but we could see the talent level dropping off quickly. As long as we are solid and trying to improve BC will be my pick. I think he can lead us to the promise land if we give him time. I am giving him four years to make the team his and them I will start expecting big things.
