Captains

I guess this is just another topic to pass some time but do you guys prefer that we switch off captains every game so I guess there is no bias or do you like the traditional way better of having set captains named before the year?

My personal preference is having set captains.. I'm just not sure who from offense would be named one though.

I'd like to see it set, but fluid. adding another, or removing one should be regular. just because you earned it before the season, doesn't mean you are entitled to it for the rest of the season.

Seems like Kinnie would be a good fit for Offensive Captain. A vocal senior with leadership qualities (mostly off the field).

I like set captains and I dont neccessarily think they have to be seniors. If I had my pick it would be Burkhead and Caputo on offense, Crick and Dennard on D.

Rex Burkhead says hello

I like 4 captains. Two season long senior captains picked by the coaches and 2 captains of any class voted in each week by the players. Split each between offense and D.

I wouldn't expect anything less... I might be a bit surprised Cuputo isn't in there. Maybe a little bit over top on that thought! I'm sure it is a player voted on thing!

Seeing Henery last year as a captain kicked arse.

Like flatwaterfan, I like two SRs set with rotating guys every week. Gives players something extra to shoot for.

I don't understand the fluid thing. Obviously if a guy becomes a major a$$-hat half way through the season and becomes a ticking time bomb in the locker room he should be stripped of his 'C', otherwise they should be solid. Maybe I'm missing something, but I've always understood leadership to be an 'every minute of every day' thing, not a contest to vote on which players worked hardest this week. The team votes on the guys that they KNOW work hard, are team guys, and have earned the respect of their teammates. Why would that change from week to week?
