Someone on TexAgs had an interesting side note about that video: Was the girl on the right side of the video being proposed to? Sure looks like it to me.

Actually I believe the "cord" is the shadow from the ABC/ESPN camera wires running above the field.
Uh, there's definitely a cord running in the video. When Bradon Jones' camera is looking toward the crowd celebrating, you can see it running from the mass of people (to a camera in amongst everyone, probably an ABC camera that followed the Nebraska team to the middle of the field and stayed there in the celebration, you can see big cameras being held overhead in the crowd if you look closely in the slowmo video, the cord probably runs to one of those) and running toward the camera off to Jones' right. Reed #25 steps over, (actually on it to make sure it doesnt jerk up again and trip him) this cord. When the camera turns toward Pelini you can see another cord (or the same one) running from the camera's left and back behind Pelini along the Nebraska sideline. There is also another cameraman with a big video camera on his shoulder a few feet away (to the left of Pelini on the screen when the camera turns toward him) but I think this is another cordless video camera and not related to the cords along the ground.

Sorry, you're right. There's a shadow from the cord which is what I was seeing but the actual cord is only a bit above that.

And you are correct that the TexAgs camera is just a handheld, they were just shooting web video. Only reason to have a corded camera out there is for a live television feed.

I gave a some credence to the cord and Reed #25 yesterday. To me it looked like he was looking at Reed as he was walking and saw him trip and then he politely walked over to the camera man.

Not to beat a dead horse, but just recieved this email at 12:59 on Tuesday Afternoon:

The following statement is from Nebraska Defensive Coordinator Carl Pelini:

“I apologize for the events that occurred after Saturday night’s game at Texas A&M. It was a very emotional situation and the mob scene on the field after the game amplified that. Having been involved in a similar situation in 2003 at Missouri, and in witnessing the situation on the field, I made a poor decision in trying to prevent a reporter from recording the scene. I have acknowledged this from the very beginning. Unfortunately, in trying to prevent a scene, I created one. We have been in contact with Brandon Jones and I have apologized to him directly for putting my hands on his camera. I offered to pay for any damages to the camera, but Brandon indicated there were none.

“Unfortunately, Bo did not have all the facts prior to yesterday’s press conference and wasn’t fully prepared for the question. Hopefully, this statement will erase all doubts about the situation and allow everyone to put it behind us. Again, I apologize for any negative publicity this has caused for our football program, Athletic Department and the University of Nebraska.”

That's a solid column.

1. Brings out the fact that the calls were TURRIBLE in some of those instances..The TJE/Cotton debacle and roughing the passer. He acknolwedges the disparity in penalties. It's a good point.

2. He also discusses Bo's temperament and that no matter the ref crew in any conference, his antics don't earn him any favors. He needs to learn better self control.

Personally, I think it's spot on from all angles.

bunch of bullsh#t is what it is. Jerod-Eddie won't be suspended by A&M and i don't expect Dan Beebe to do anything about it.
