a buddy (huskerboard member) just called me and said the gentleman he sits next to at the stadium mentioned Bo and TO aren't necessarily on "good terms" right now..... no elaboration...... any input from guys who either know, or think they know??
The older crowd at the games...their "source" is most likely someone who uses the internet...

:snacks: Interesting.......and not not the post above this one

Isn't getting the scoop on the hottest new rumors a titillating experience? I feel like I'm in junior high again.

So this thread is surmising that Carl could leave, and taking guesses at who would be our next DC? Okay, here’s my wild assed guess--even though I have my doubts that Carl is leaving. IF Carl did leave, and IF we didn't promote from within, it could be someone like Ron Vanderlinden of Penn State or maybe Tim DeRuyter of aTm. Or even Koenning from Illinois.

In the original 'Smart Bomb' thread the writer said that Bo had permission to talk to Old Miss. Bo's name isn't even mentioned as a candidate. What they would like is for Peyton Manning to coach there should his neck injury keep him from returning to Professional Ball (Archie, Peyton's dad, is on the Search Committee at Old Miss) Here is what they are saying:

Carl's name isn't mentioned for FAU either. Here are the coaches they are talking about.

Candidates who Angelos has had contact with include former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, North Alabama coach Terry Bowden, former Clemson coach Tommy Bowden, Florida State assistant Eddie Gran and Florida State assistant and former North Carolina State head coach Chuck Amato.

Sorry to say this but I think there is little or no credibility in the information that has been shared with regards to 'Smart Bomb'. It's just a bunch of 'heresay' from someone who may or may not be right. I'm sure there are people on this board who know lots as to what's going on inside with regards to the Huskers, however, I'm not going to believe anything until it's been confirmed by a credible source.
those are some real winners there........

I just got on here to see where this rumor was headed.... At the game today, heard many times that Carl was gone and that Stoops was the "next DC" at Nebraska.... I just laughed and still do at the idea.....

** Although, this is what I meant when I said that IF Carl is gone or leaves, then Bo needs to get a big name DC with the same philosophy...not Doug Coleman... We need all the help we need with recruiting and having a guy with the last name of STOOPS automatically gets people's attention. The fact that they are close friends and have worked together kind of leads me to believe that they may share same ideals.... Kind of a "perfect fit" to my suggestion.

** I will add further to the "smart bomb"...... a buddy (huskerboard member) just called me and said the gentleman he sits next to at the stadium mentioned Bo and TO aren't necessarily on "good terms" right now..... no elaboration...... any input from guys who either know, or think they know??
It's probably the guy that started the whole 'smart bomb' thread in the first place. Anyone that knows T.O.'s character and background knows that he's not easily riled. He is a VERY patient/understanding man. I seriously doubt that he and Bo are having any troubles at all. Not on 'good terms' what does that mean? Is it similar to 'feeling the love' for each other. How absurd! Sorry, I'm not buying any of this. It's as ridiculous as the aquarium guy rumors. Good Grief!

Oh yeah, about this 'Chris Peterson coming to Nebraska' thing: Bogus. Peterson is from California. Arizona wants him badly http://www.oregonlive.com/pac-12/index.ssf/2011/10/pac-12-roundup-links_4.html He's already spurrned Standford to stay at Boise. Why would he come here?? http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6008976 Others are speculating that he might pick (and yeah this is bleacher report so take it with a grain of salt) these 5 colleges if he were to leave Boise: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/905808-boise-state-football-the-5-jobs-that-might-entice-chris-petersen-to-leave 5-USC 4-Tennesee 3-Georgia 2-Miami Dolphins 1-UCLA Petersen appears to be very happy at Boise St. If he said 'no' to Stanford, again, why in the world would he come here?
You just quoted the bleacherreport. Grain of salt or not...... :flush
