Carl Pelini

Need to pick him up quick.... been hearing Urban Meyer is wanting him on his staff as DC
Just a guess but I am sure he would pick working with one of his good friends over Meyer.
Just a guess but tOSU has given Meyer basically a blank check to hire his staff and T.O. does NOT give OK to pay big for assistant coaches. Nebraska can not be in a bidding war for a DC with tOSU cuz we will lose. I don't care if he was a childhood friend.

The new DC will be someone they can pay $250,000 or less, and since Bo handles Defense a lot anyway it'll probably be someone with experience at a lower level school.

What will Bo do now? His Chris Petersen is leaving, and he's going to have to be Dan Hawkins all by himself.

Oh no, the bold is not true at all. We have money and T.O opened up the checkbook for Bo. Money was not an issue with our hiring process.

I'd like to see Bo pull double duty being HC/DC a la Osborne when he was HC/OC. Then I'd give Papuchis the co-DC title and a bump in pay while easing him into the DC role with experience alongside Bo. Then hire a DL coach and call it good.

Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini has been offered the Florida Atlantic job and is expected to accept the position, sources told CBSSports.com.

The 46-year old Pelini is the brother of Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini. Carl Pelini will replace Howard Schnellenberger, who announced his retirement before the season.

Carl Pelini has been Nebraska’s defensive coordinator since 2008. Before that Pelini was defensive line coach at Ohio from 2005-07, defensive coordinator at Minnesota State in 2004 and a Nebraska graduate assistant in 2003.

From 1987-2002, Pelini was a high school coach in Ohio, except for three seasons (1889-91) as a Kansas State graduate assistant and restricted earnings coach.

This will be Pelini’s first head coaching job since 2002 when he was at Austintown’s Fitch High School in Ohio.

Florida Atlantic (1-10) concludes its season Saturday at home against Louisiana-Monroe.
