Carson Palmer to Raiders

Heisman Trophy Winner
The Raiders are hoping he can do a lot, having traded a 2012 first-round pick and a conditional second-rounder in 2013 that can become another first if Oakland makes it to the AFC title game in either of the next two years.
Jesus, when we give up the booty, we give up the booty...

Not sure he's worth it, to be honest.

But I suppose it's reassuring to see that the Raiders will continue Al Davis' tradition of making monumental personnel acquisition mistakes? Or maybe not...

Even after Al Davis' death the Raiders are continuing their tradition of flushing 1st round draft picks down the toilet.

How is it worth it to make the playoffs? You lose potentially two first round picks. You have no picks until the 5th round in the upcoming draft. I don't get it. The guy is a huge unknown and is 32. The chiefs made the playoffs last year. Whoopie. Clearly a playoff birth does not necessarily equal progress. Now if you were fighting for a super bowl then fine. Just think it's too much to give up so you can make the playoffs. If Carson Palmer plays for 3 years and the Raiders make the playoffs all 3 then maybe that's worth it but one year...I don't know.

If they'd have given up a 4th round or even a 3rd round pick, I'd be ok with that.

I know he's a better option than Kyle Boller or heaven forbid Tyrelle Pryor, but to give up a first rounder for a guy that hasn't done anything up to this point this year, is pretty out there. Who's to say he'll pick up the offense quickly or what kind of shape he's in. If they weren't 4-2, then they'd be rolling Boller out there like lambs to the slaugher.

I think this is a win/win for both sides. The bengals get some Great picks! The raiders get s QB who is from the area wasn't happy from where he was and palmer getting traded to a place near his home could rejuvenate himself and play great. I know that if I was unhappy with the direction that my team was going I may not put my whole heart into things.
