CB David Ross

That is Eric's way of saying he doesn't really know. I interpret this as of right now (for how long who knows) a strong lean to a soft commit to NU. Next week he may be commited to somewhere else. It all hurts my head. :dunno

This guy, along with Lewis, is the guy I wanted most of all. He's a must-get.

Offer him an Escalade or something...

(Just kidding!)

Is it for sure that he is a solid verbal? I don't have access to rivals to read what it says for sure? Anyone in the know please clear it up and let in be 100% known for sure. Thanks.

Cornerback picks Nebraska

David Ross triggered a showdown of sorts a few days ago at his high school.

Bill Busch vs. Tyrone Willingham. Nebraska assistant football coach vs. Washington head coach.

May the best man win.

“They had a little standoff,” said Keith Donerson, co-head coach at Dominguez High in Compton, Calif. “Busch got it done.”

That is apparently the case, as Ross, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback, has given an oral commitment to accept Nebraska’s scholarship offer. In selecting the Huskers, Ross turned down Washington, California, Colorado, Michigan, Mississippi, Oregon, Oregon State and Utah, among others.

Ross gave strong indications in October that he would choose Nebraska, but said he planned other recruiting visits. He no longer has those plans, Donerson said Saturday.

Playing defensive back and quarterback, Ross this season led Dominguez to a 13-1 record and a CIF Southern Section Division III championship.

“He’s a lockdown, man-to-man corner,” Donerson said. “And we always put our best athlete at quarterback.”

Ross reportedly runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. He drew a four-star rating (on a five-star scale) from both Scout.com and Rivals.com. He’s rated as the nation’s No. 17 cornerback by Scout.com and No. 14 by Rivals.com.

News of Ross’ oral commitment to Nebraska arrived 10 days after the Huskers attracted a commitment from four-star junior college cornerback Armando Murillo.

Ross visited Nebraska Oct. 21-22, the weekend of the Huskers’ 22-20 loss to Texas.

“He came back here and said, ‘I want to be a Husker,’” Donerson said. “He said, ‘That’s the kind of football I want to play.’ I worked two camps at Nebraska. It’s easy to fall in love with Lincoln with the way it loves football.”

Donerson praised Busch’s recruiting prowess.

“Usually, when a head coach comes in, an assistant might back down,” Donerson said. “Coach Busch didn’t back down at all.”
