That makes a lot of sense - I am all for taking 6'3 guys who run 10.6! But coming off an injury and with limited film he'd probably be a candidate to get dropped from a lot of schools. So getting some NIL money initially but not using up a scholarship during recovery is ideal. One of these years we're going to have to sign a class of like 12 guys though.

Word was he wouldn't sign an actual LOI.  But the University can't post stuff like the above unless they've signed.

So perhaps the report of not signing a LOI isn't quite correct.  Just not going to be on scholarship right away.

Yeah, seems likely that the conversion went something to the effect of "We don't have a scholarship for you now.  But we can get you some NIL money if you walk-on and you can compete for a scholarship in future years."
