Censorship

Weird how the right praises Musk for fixing the problem….when he’s even worse.
He hasn’t totally fixed the problem, but two things are certainly true….the problem was definitely worse under prior ownership, people on the right also complain to Elon about some censorship but X is a better user experience under this ownership (community notes is a perfect example)

Almost no one agrees with you on this

Thanks for showing you fall for his crap.

Good job.

Almost everyone agrees with me on that.
Sounds like Trump…..with about the same amount of truth.

Temu ad every other tweet, random crashes all the time, stupid no names buying themselves verified status. It's garbage.

Let's not forget the abundance of blatant racial attacks/racism that weren't allowed 2020 and when they did happen led to immediate bans; the elimination of verified users, paying for a blue check isn't a verified user; the end user view changes are not my preference, but some may like the new layout, I'm not one of them. The one change I like, is the "user notes", but overall Twitter is a lot worse now than it was in 2020 and I've yet to hear anyone who is not posting anonymously on a message board and fangirling/knobslobbing over elon and the right be in favor of it now vs 2020.

I don't use Twitter/X anymore unless I see a tweet posted here I don't look at it.

Is the amount of uses up/down since it changed over to X?

Also, I don't use it because I got a new iPhone a few years ago and never downloaded the app again, I just sort of forgot about it.  It was not some lame political or social stance.  I am not a nutjob.

Yea I was trying to use reasons that anyone could relate to as some may find your first negative as a positive. But that is also a good reason it sucks. Just not the same as it used to be and not for the better but hey if you like X that's your perogative I guess. Trying to pass off that opinion as the consensus on the other hand ain't gonna fly.

What has been worse about X today than twitter in 2020 for your own personal experience?

Depends on how you define worse, but here's a random assortment of things that in my estimation have gotten worse, and also a random assortment of things that run contrary and hypocritical to Musk's alleged free speech absolutism anti-censorship dogma:

• The biggest has to be that it is absolutely swarmed with bots. Over the last ~6-9 months I've gotten about 70 new followers with not a single one being real. Further, replies sections on tweets with high engagement and the 'for you' feed are both littered with 'verified' user bots spamming disinformation, phishing links, nudes in bio, entirely unrelated videos, and bloat 'wow! so cool' comments.

• The verification system going from one used to denote notable accounts to one that is pay-for-placement has resulted in a whole litany of problems

• Paid engagement farming encourages horrible takes and a further erosion of quality of communication/content/interaction, which was already a problem

• The Grok AI system routinely gives people demonstrably false info about important subjects

• Video quality is absolutely atrocious

• The platform has become more opaque and arbitrary in regards to its rules/suspensions/etc., with numerous examples of left wing journalists being banned or suspended with no warning or explanation, nonprofits being hit with lawsuits for investigations and studies detailing things like the rise in hate speech and disinformation on the platform, asking the chinese government to censor unhappy tesla owners (and filing defamation claims against chinese citizens), and getting rid of twitter's legal team that used to actually defend users' free speech rights and challenging legal orders in courts to now complying with them, especially in regards to oppressive regimes in other countries.
