94 I think that is my point. This year we need to watch and see what we have. This staff and these kids have a tough road to hoe. Making unrealistic goals for them is not good on anyone.

Just support the team as best you can. If you can sing the winner song every day more power to you. If you can't there is nothing wrong with that. But getting down on the team for what ever reason is wrong. These kids have shown tremedous effort, dedication and loyalty to a coach they barely know. That is one thing that I would have bet against early on. But he has moved them from where they were to where they need to be. This is the base for the future, you start slow and gradual, hope for the stars, but be happy the base is building. I can wait 5 years to see what some predicted this year. As long as I continue to see what has been happening.

I am anything but negative about this team.

Blah blah you say one thing in one post an then turn around in another and say "I am anything but negative about this team".. Whatever you are you want us to just write off the OU game and then let me guess you will next say we cant beat KU or Colo.. Give it a rest damn some of your points may be valid but have you forgot what its like to have faith in your team and do whatever it takes to help em get that win?? I guess I am just a fan that thinks every game will be a win and if we lose well then we lose and thats my problem to deal with in my own way.. I am done trying to show you that your being negative an I hope for the true fans on this board an if any current players read these post that they all ignore your posts an only read what the fans that have there back and believe in them no matter who we play or what the outcome is at the end have to say.. Of course they did but I'm not sure the Big 12 was what it is today. I guess it's wrong of me to believe that we can win each week no matter who we are playing. I guess that is what makes me a fan. All I'm trying to say is that the attitude this year is much different and that counts for a lot. If you want Billy C back to take us to that one Big 12 champ. game in a very less than mediocre north be my guest.

EVERY team is somewhat different. And two years ago the skers were a better team than they are right now IMHO.

are the 2008 skers better than last year?? Looks like it, but time will tell.

The chances of a Big 12 north title would be a lot higher if we pulled out the win at Texas Tech. Now our chances of getting the north are worse than our chances of beating Oklahoma.

What is wrong with them believing in the nearly impossible? I agree, the chances of beating OU are low. Let them have their fun. I know you'll be supporting the Huskers during that game just like everyone else, and I know you realize that (sorry for the cliche) Rome wasn't built in a day.

Hoping the Huskers win the Big 12 North and believing they are going to are two different things. It is important for the team to believe that, not for us. There is nothing wrong with being realistic as well as optimistic.

Just don't threaten people with dumb bets like that, how does that prove what they believe? I got one, if you stop being an internet tough guy I'll give up my board privileges, and my car, and my house, and my Jenna Jameson porno classics. If I don't do it then I don't truly believe you are a bad a$$.

Not a bad a$$ by any means, but I get tired of being called negative. Anyone with half a brain would see we are not on the level of Oklahoma. But just because some one says we will win does not make it so.

I support this team day in and day out in many ways. The difference is I see what indicates where we will be and what and how we will do it. Others, not to be mentioned just see us winning agaisnt one of the toughest teams in the country because we beat Iowa State. More so because they want us to. Calling a spade as spade is what I am doing. I do not see the possiblities of it happening. I can list numerous reasons it wouldn't, the opposite side can not list a single reason it would happen other than they want it to.

We are down at QB, Oline, Dline, LB, S, TE, not at home, not beatent a top 20 team in 20 outings, and at this time coaching, I really do not belive that but most would say that. Stoops has not been able to win the big game without Blakes kids.

Show me one area where we are better than Oklahoma.

I agree we have a chance, slim or what makes no difference. Anytime you play the game you have a chance, and I will cheering for them win or lose, just like I have for the last 50 some years.. But if we lose, I will understand why and hope our team and a coaching staff learned something from it. That is the way I look at it. Do the best you can every game, and let the chips fall where they may. Most on this board came into the year hoping for improvement, some had thoughts of NC's and undefeated seasons. And some looked at what we had, who we play and what our past performance indicated, and said this is what will happen. Those have been pretty close, and have not been the ones screaming for a coaching change or this player playing. That is where the rub is. If we get beat like Missouri beat us, which there is a good chance, the coashes will be to blame or one of the kids sucks, even Ganz is fair game remember. Go back and look at the posts after the Missouri game. Some are enough to make you sick.

I am positive we are a better team than we were last year, that we are moving forward, but that we have a long way to go. That as a fan is all I need to do.

I can see skersfan's point of view and I understand why he feels that way. I know he would be happy as hell if we beat OU guys, he's just trying to be realistic. That's okay, as that is his opinion which he is entitled to as are all of the posters on the board. I am going to remain optimistic as that is how I am everyday throughout life and hope like hell that we win and think that we have a shot.
