Charles Jackson

And a less encouraging tweet....

Brian Christopherson ‏@HuskerExtraBC 34s

Charles Jackson isn't sure how many game reps he'll get at safety. Said he has mostly been working with the 2s in practices. #Huskers

One thing that this defense needs is a player maker at safety. CJax fits that role pretty well
.
Desperately. I thought HJ was really gonna be that guy. Not that he is isn't. He still has a shot, but so far not a lot of production. I've liked CJ ever since we recruited him. He just seems like a well rounded football player. He's skilled in almost all aspects. Especially the tackling aspect, which........ya you know.

Bo was quoted as saying CJ just isn't getting it all mentally yet.....then if course I caught sh#t for repeating what the coach said. Regardless, it looks to me like we have plenty of guys playing who aren't getting it all mentally, so damnit get this kid in there for a bit.

We know what we have with HarvJax and Green, which ins't what we expected. So why not throw a play maker in there. I understand that if he messes up it's most likely a TD but this guy is a baller than needs to see the field.

What is the worst that could happen. He plays like a baller, has a nose for the football and makes plays while constantly "making mistakes". Let the best athletes play. Much like David............

Maybe this is a good thing given how bad this scheme is

I'm trying not to go there, considering I'm such a "horrible person" for not liking Bo's approach to defense, or his scheme. But yea, everybody knows how I feel about that.

According to Bo Pelini, "understanding the system" is a hell of a lot more important than actually being able to tackle the guy in front of you. Charles Jackson should've gone to Oklahoma, he'd be getting a lot more playing time there

Why would you be a horrible person for seeing how terrible a Pelini defense is when it doesn't have players named Dorsey and Suh involved. Blow out after blowout and crapping the bed on your home field annually would have me believe anyone that thinks Pelini knows defense/talent might be on mind altering drugs

Lavonte David also didn't understand the system initially yet he was a big impact player fur us. Great tackler with excellent instincts. I remember Bo ragging on him to at times. I say give him an opportunity...... Bo can be so stubborn sometimes.

Charles Jackson better play this week because we don't have anything to lose at the safety spot. Worst case scenario is he's just as good as Green or Harvey.

I haven't been a "play CJax from day one" guy and I don't see how he's already dubbed a "playmaker" when I think he's made two? Plays on special teams?

I think he's an athletic freak that has the potential to be very good, but lets not put the cart before the horse here.

The scheme works. It worked well enough for us to win 10 football games last year with Stein and it also worked the year before with Moore and Stein. The scheme was there to win the CCG. In the CCG you can literally go back and watch a certain safety be called upon to make tackles that just didn't do his job.

But what do I know? I just tend to watch the game objectively. For example, the defensive play calling in the SDSU game was horrid in the first and second quarter.

Did we lose a game at home last year? Can't seem to remember that.
