Texas is too busy fighting off the SEC raid of Texas A&M to even consider anything from the Big 10. All that does is muddy the waters and Texas wants this done.

As for Purple Book Cat, well, that's nice.

Chip Brown also said that Texas has had no contact with the Big Ten-- despite published e-mails that show otherwise. He is being used.

Gee, you'll have to nominate him to the Woodshed like you did me. Apparently you Big 12 types are a little sensitive. :) All good fun. Welcome to the Big Ten.

 
If aTm ever wants to be an elite program they should join the SEC and say to hell with Texas. Quit suckling from Texas' teat like all the other leaches, pave your own path to greatness. aTm has all the tools to do so in the long run, they are in a populous state, big recruiting base, and have a huge school. Time to act.

If football was all that mattered, you'd be right!

Unfortunately, Texas politics (not for the squeamish!) are likely to stamp out any move in that direction. You have to remember that A&M is dependent on the Legislature for much of its funding, as well as a thousand other things. And there's precious support there for a move to the SEC. What A&M is doing, even to assert this much independence, is downright astounding. I'd be surprised if it wasn't just a pre-planned show to give the impression that it was looking around.

 
I talked to my buddy who lives in Texas who's an Aggies fan and he believes that both Texas and Texas A&M will head west to the Pac 10

 
I always thought the brown chips were the things you tried to avoid when you walked across the pasture.

I realize that you don't dig the idea of UT to the Big Ten, and that's fine by me. However, PBC has been verified early and more often than Chippy. As kinch said and I alluded to elsewhere, he's looking like a tool for misinformation.
