Chris Brooks, Will Henry, Niles Paul.....

Brooks showed some promise in the spring game. Holt and Henry have potential and are talked about practicing well, but I haven't seen either do anything. Paul has never played against college competition. I would have to give Brooks the edge, but I think things could click for Henry and he could come up big. Paul could have an immediate impact, but who knows.

I still think Mo isnt gone yet. We may lose him for a set amount of games but I still think he plays on.

I really think we should watch out for Paul. There was something about him while he was at North, just this vibe that came off of him. There hasn't really been a position player freshman that has played great since Callahan got here, and I have a feeling that he will be the guy this year. Just a feeling. GBR

:yeah i think you might be right, eventually we will get a freshman who makes an immediate impact, it will happen.

I think that Paul has the speed, size, and strength combo that NONE of our receivers have right now. He is 6'2 about 210 pounds, and has high 4.3 speed. I think he will be put in situational roles this year, and slowly move into a primary role in two or three years. I agree that he will make an impact this year, but it will be from a big play standpoint, rather than an every play receiver. The offense is just too complicated for a first year player to get the offense down. I also think a player that everyone is forgetting about is Curenski Gilleylan, if you havent watched his film I would advice you to. He has BLAZING speed, so they could put him in the slot or on the outside and let him stretch the defense like nobody we have now can.

Do you guys not remember Nate Swift leading the team in receptions in 2005 as a true freshman? He came up pretty damn big and had an impact.

I thought we were talking more about who was going to be our big deep threat. Last year it was a combo of people, including Nunn, Purify, and Hardy. Purify has good speed, I thought I read somewhere that he ran a high 4.4 but I could be mistaken. I know Hardy and Nunn run at least that low, however neither of them have the best hands in the world. I think of Nunn as someone who could take the crossing route underneath for a big gain, and Hardy as someone who could beat you deep it just depends on whether or not he catches it. Holt, Brooks, and Henry are all more the big possession type receivers. I think all the receivers we have right now are best at the short to intermediate passing game. Paul and Gilleylan will bring a new dimension, along with Keller.

I believe Henry is suppose to be fast. I don't know about Brooks -- maybe he's getting faster in the weight room. He didn't work out much in high school. Holt perhaps would be your possession receiver, but again he could be getting faster, too, in the weight room. Swift is your possession-type receiver. Peterson, too. The problem with Hardy and Nunn, besides their hands, is they seem to lack physical strength which gets them jammed up at the line of scrimmage.

I know all the freshman are already on campus and I think they started training early this morning. At least that's what I heard from a very reliable source haha.

Gilleylen anyone? I heard he may be thrown in right away, returning kicks...
i would like to see him out there returning kicks, if i am not mistaken he does have some wheels
4.33 40 time. He may be faster than that when someone's after him. The guy is a monster.
well the coaches saw something in him because they offered a scholarship. if he lives up to it i am sure that he will see the field

:yeah With a guy that fast, you have to find some way to get him on the field, even if it's only returning kicks. That's too much speed not to use imo
