you can plug westerkamp in there for one of jamal's spots on the second team
since he's proven so much as Husker thus far...
Hey smartass...putting him in one of those spots would make him about the 6th WR on the depth chart. I don't think that's too unreasonable given his pedigree and the way Bo plays freshmen.

Does anyone know much about the Zimmerer/Marrow battle? I thought many people slated Marrow to take that spot over.
Zimmerer went into the spring at #1 and has held on to that spot. Whats nice is that it appears both can actually get the right reads and understand the offense. I don't think there is a huge gap between the two at the moment.
Does either of them have strengths better than the other or are they pretty similar? One a better ball carrier, blocker? Do you think either of them have the ability to be better than Legate was?

Sounds like Zimmer might have better hands and slightly better at picking up the pass block. Marrows strength is his field vision when he gets the ball (Not quite as good as Rex but similar) and his quickness to the blocker in the run game. I think both will be much better than Legate by mid season. Of course I wasn't that impressed with Legate on a regular basis. I think had Marrow been cleared last year he would have been in front of Legate. Zimmer had a nice year of learning and that moved him up a peg. It sounds like it will still be a coin flip come fall and I would expect both to play pretty evenly.

I would need an abacus to count the number of missed or ineffective blocks Legate threw the last couple of years. Hate throwing one of our guys under the bus, but he was not effective a lot.
