It's a start. Like you said, it doesn't guarantee wins but it surely is a good start. :horns2

At least the visits are there. Nebraska means for more to a prospect in person than on paper. Amazing the quality of athlete the Huskers have gottten in here.

You know I think something that is contributing to us getting these bluechip visits is based on the cyclical effect that is so common in college sports.

And one of the variables in that equation is the "little kid idolizing a team" effect, when they picked their teams based on who kicked the most a$$. If you think about it, when we/NU football was enjoying our dynasty of the 90's, most of these recruits graduating in the next couple were in their "impressionable" years, when many look for a dominating team to call their own, & set goals to play for them someday. So most of these guys should understand the tradition and heritage of the mighty "N".

According to recruiting analysts, Callahan and his coaches quietly are doing a bang-up job on the recruiting front. Led by defensive line coach John Blake, the former Oklahoma coach who was responsible for hooking several members of the Sooners' national title-winning team, Nebraska is one of just nine teams with multiple top-100 prospects according to the latest rankings by Rivals.com. Scout.com's Allen Wallace says that Nebraska already has six four-star prospects, an unusually high number at this stage in the recruiting game.

"There is a trust there that Callahan will bring Nebraska back to its stature of old," Wallace said. "In the past 10 years, only two Nebraska recruiting classes have been in the top 10 in my book, but this is shaping up to be one of the better looking groups out there."

Nebraska with the addition of Lucky now have solidified 3 verbal commitments from players ranked in Rivals top 100.

Other teams

Michigan 3

Oklahoma 5

Texas 3

Ohio St. 4

Tenn. 3

Nebraska is also pursuing and activilly recruiting 11 other players that are in the top 100. (These are players I believe NU has a fair shot at getting) This included Jerrell Powe who is ranked as the second best player overall. He will be taking his first official visit to NU which couyld help us out as did this way with Lucky.
