Coach Elmo Comment about Freshmen

Yet another reason why people question this coaching staff.
There is no need to question this staff. There is, however, a need to remove them.

That is, this is so beyond questioning and has progressed to whjere the only responsible thing to do is escort them out the door.

Well, we started true freshman Tommie Frazier and that worked out pretty well I think. I watched the Kentucky vs. South Carolina game last night. I was amazed at how many freshmen and sophomores Spurrier has starting. After comments like that, it makes you wonder why everyone is expecting this huge QB battle next year between Witt, Ganz, and Gabbert? Gabbert will only go in for enough plays next year to burn his redshirt year!

Here's a comment that pisses me off:

About Anthony Blue: “His focus is like none other I’ve seen in a true freshman… He’s at a point now, if we have an injury we’ll play him… Woody Hayes said for every (freshman) you start you’ll lose a game and I think it’s true. We don’t like to play them.”

This is stupid. If they can play, let them play. Pete Carrol has never been afraid to put a true freshman into tough situations. Obviously, he believes there's nothing as valuable to a player's development as actual PT.

I don't like this philosophy one bit.

totally agree, piss poor attitude and another reason Coz needs to get his a$$ run off! Elmo is the worst DB coach i think we have evr had at NU, the technique he teaches the kids is just pitiful, he is a loser from the word go, i hope Coz can find him a job when they all hit the road. absolute jacka$$! :madash

I thinks its true if you have a player thats doing really great in practice and showing the signs of a really good player then why not play them

Cuase sometimes senority dosent mean jack SH*T if you see a player thats giving it his all in practice and that all is more than what some starters are giving on the actual playing field then put that other player it shouldnt matter if the player is freshman or sophmore GIVE THE DAM KID A CHANCE! (dam CAPS LOCK)

And you wonder why Pete Carrol can get 5-star RBs year after year. They know they have a chance to play right away.
$ 250,000 and free hookers help ;)
TRUE DAT!
That helps in recruiting not play on the field. Also HSKRNOKC, it is better to say NOTHING then to say something STUPID.

Must have missed that one in the famous quotes post a couple of days ago.

Thats almost worse then the reason he gave for not playing cover 4 a few years back.

as i said at t he beginning of the season, elmo is the worst and this old school attitude is just more proof of it! what a total embarassment to the organization. wake the hell up cally and pud, run the whole defensive coaching staff out of town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not only is it a stupid thing to say, but it is not true. I'm sorry but you are telling me that if USC played 7 freshman they wouldnt be .500? stupid stupid stupid........ my faith in this staff is slowly wearing away

About sacks: “The most overrated statistic in football is sacks. That stat was generated by Lawrence Taylor and NFL guys… If you’re going to face a passing team, what will really decide if you’re a good rush team is if every six times he throws the ball you are affecting his throw…. We’re not there, obviously.”

I guess if the defense was getting sacks we would never see that Quote. Every six times?

About blitzing: “A lot of people say we’re not a blitz team. That’s not accurate. We’ll get after it on third down more than any other team in the Big 12." <_< Game plan expect us to blitz on third.

About Anthony Blue: “His focus is like none other I’ve seen in a true freshman… He’s at a point now, if we have an injury we’ll play him… Woody Hayes said for every (freshman) you start you’ll lose a game and I think it’s true. We don’t like to play them.” :hmmph

About Prince Amukamara, and a reason why he came back to defense after spending two preseason practices working with the offense: “He found out he had to (pass) protect.”

Was this just a joke he threw out or what? Why would you throw a player under the bus like that?

Ok, this might be the defenses problem if your coaches think like this.
