Coaches Poll - Status quo

I wasn't expecting any bounce with the way the Big 10 played its non conference schedule this year. Let's win out and hope our brothers and sisters in the league win their bowl games. Next year, we will be watching the polls much more closely because we will be a legit top 6 team.

 
Who cares about AP. the coaches know a lot more than these damn biased sport writers who rank there own team 5 spots higher than they should be, or that douche bag Missouri writer who always ranks nebraska barely in the top 25 with a 9-2 record. If we win out and win the rose bowl we will finish top 10 and set us up for a top 5 preseason for next year.

The coaches don't have the time to follow or care about what other teams are doing and usually get an assistant to throw their rankings together. For AP writers, meanwhile, THAT IS THEIR JOB. The AP Poll is generally 1000x better than the Coaches Poll. (So it's appropriately hilarious that the BCS uses the coaches poll)

 
Can't believe we win and drop a spot in the AP. Whatever.

Serious question, we win next week and beat Wisky in the B1G do people really think we can crack the top 10? Our only losses to an 11-0 OSU and a higher ranked UCLA.

Do we have to win the Rose to hope for a final season top 10? Seems we are still on the outside looking in with the teams ahead of us.

 
Yeah the dropping after a convincing win kinda irks me. We won handily and many of the teams above us currently "AHEM OU AHEM" squeak one out. Oh well, maybe it's best we aren't in the 15 range for both polls as we normally come out and lay an egg anytime we're in the top 15 on all polls.

 
Does ranking even matter? The goal is to make it to the Rose bowl, which will happen regardless if we win our next two games. Otherwise, the rank is just a number.

And if we lose, I really don't care what bowl we end up in. It will just be another disappointing season...

 
I laughed when I saw we dropped in the AP. I figured we would have stayed in position at least. Coaches poll, #14, I can live with that. Don't think we are a top #10 team just yet. Wonder where BCS will have us, I am thinking maybe #13-16

 
5 down 1 to go. We need to keep our focus on Iowa for next week. They have nothing to play for but pride. Sometimes that goes a long way. I hope Bo emphasizes that this isn't over yet. We still need to win out. Then we have to figure out a way to beat Wiscy again. Polls are nice but they really are irrelevant until the end of the season. Remember when everyone had USC as the top team this year? They're 7-4!! I say, hang in there and play great ball next week. ONE GAME AT A TIME!!!
