Oregeron wanted to come to Nebraska, made it very well-known, but no, we didn't go after him due to his ethics (?)

Instead, LSU snatched him up and look at the wonders he's working in Baton Rouge.

I've said from the beginning: I've heard plenty about what a nice guy Riley is, but very little about what a great coach he is. Bringing along all his buddies -- especially Banker (who OSU have wanted gone for years) -- was the first red flag.

We did that with Bill Callahan. Had he tossed Cosgrove out he may still be here. Coaching hires are like the lottery, very few actually win. You need to find the right coach for your program & all his asst need to fit as well or you need a guy who will make the tough choice & fire his friend.

The class is roughly 65% full. We'll probably take 8 more recruits. Half of those need to be 4-stars or higher to finish with a top-20 class. It's going to be tough.

Good point. Well, I guess if it's too tough they will probably fail. Same with the season. Obviously they are coaching and recruiting this team to mediocracy, based on ample evidence.

I am not a recruiting junkie as many posters on here are, so I have to go by other people's analysis. You are probably right that if we want to see improvement in recruiting, we haven't seen anything significant yet. If we do end up at around 29-30th ranked, that would match Bo's current 4-year average rank, according to this recent article:

If you think that ranking "sucks" then you are also saying that our current roster "sucks".

I am not disagreeing with that statement, but people should keep that in mind when they make arguments for or against our current talent level.

For Nebraska to have a shot at championships, I agree that we should see recruiting rankings more in the top 20, and I hope we do. I haven't given up yet.

Riley's tradition is to do the Hip Hip Hooray after the 1st win of the season. It started decades ago and he is continuing it. Surely, you, as a supposed Husker fan, can appreciate keeping with traditions.
