I got some OSU fans here at work (Tulsa) and they are glad to see Gundy gone. To them, he had become 'untouchable' in his own mind.
Losing to Tulsa at home is unforgiveable. Those that don't adapt to the new NIL and portal world are going to be left behind.Wow, colour me shocked on Gundy. He, I assumed, would be untouchable there unless he banged a cheerleader or got a DUI. They are going to be hard pressed to find a coach that will improve their program and then not be gone in 2 years to a better situation. Hell, they need to just look over @ OU for fear of them getting tired of their terrible coach and hiring their new hotness.
I wondered @ the connection between Gundy and Holgorsen and all the articles on their past relationship are about OSU considering Holgy for their new HC. Gundy can recruit and has generally had potent offenses- if Matt Rhule were to take a look @ him for his offense staff, I wouldn't be upset.
GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!
I agree. I think it may be the problem at Clemson as well.Losing to Tulsa at home is unforgiveable. Those that don't adapt to the new NIL and portal world are going to be left behind.
Nebraska is much more forward thinking and provides more resources than Wisconsin though. It kind of makes it an apples and oranges comparison. Wisconsin has always been cheap and slow to adapt to changes in the game.Fickel is in deep trouble. I watched a fair amount of that game since Maryland is an upcoming opponent- Wisconsin, @ this time, is unwatcheably bad. Their QB play is just terrible. Glad NU dodged the Fickel bullet (one that I thought could have been a pick for NU based on his time @ Cincinnati).
GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!
Agree but when they were playing their grind it out football, it didn't matter as much. They are now trying to be someone they are not, with lower level talent.Nebraska is much more forward thinking and provides more resources than Wisconsin though. It kind of makes it an apples and oranges comparison. Wisconsin has always been cheap and slow to adapt to changes in the game.
Sanders probably could have worked here with our resources but I'm still glad we have our staff instead. I honestly can't stand that guys antics.Just remember that Fickel and Sanders are 2 "flash" hires that people in Nebraska wanted. (yes, I was probably one of them) They both are struggling.
