Coaching Carousal 2025 Version

Sanders probably could have worked here

It’s an arms race. Especially at a place like N.

We already have the facilities, we have the fan base, we have the (diminishing) blue blood, we have the academics and the nutrition. We have everything we could have.

Now we gotta out and get them players.
Know what I mean?

Gundy sure has coached a lot of good teams at oSu. I wish them well in finding a coach as good as he was.
The guys at work think Zac would be a good replacement. He was a good QB for Gundy back in the 2005-2010 time period

Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson

I can see a case for any of these 3 also.

Texas A&M offensive coordinator Collin Klein - former KSU QB

Texas State head coach GJ Kinne -former Tulsa QB who had them in the top 25

James Madison head coach Bob Chesney - replaced Curt Cignetti at JMU

I would have thrown Jamey Chadwell into the mix but after a good year last year at Liberty, he's started out 1-3 so far this year.
I guess @lo country and I will have to lower our expectations for him as Nebraska's coach in waiting for Rhule to retire!

It would be a huge get for UF but I wonder if Cigs is even interested. IU can pay him more if it is is a money thing and he is old...there is 0 pressure at IU, he is already the best football coach they have ever had.
Unless he is ready to retire. Go take 30+ million from Florida and suck for a season or two so they fire you and ride off into the sunset.

Yeah, that would be one huge reason.

My guess is he could go to the IU AD and say "Hey, go to talk a few of our billionaire boosters (I think they have 2?) and get me a contract for 8 years at 11 million a year"

I swear I read last year that IU was so happy they extended his contract to 10 years. I don't remember the value but it probably could be looked up.

Like yall said, no pressure at IU and each win feeds his EGO and allows him to say what he did about Illinois in the post game presser "We broker their Will"

Yes, better to go out on top where he is thought of as their "BobFather" -

Heck no. I'm not lowering them at all on Jamey!! Look at Frost 3-0.....Location, location, location :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

He is also 64 years old...I think his son is a CFB coach some place. Might as well coach at IU for a few more years, bring your son on staff and pass it off to him.

That is what I do if I am Cig.

I coach 3 more seasons at IU, win another 25+ games, "retire" and make sure my kid gets the job. So that he can sign a fat 6 year contract at 8 million a year.

IU fans, while horrible when it comes to basketball, are probably pretty amazing when it comes to football. Considering they have averaged only 4 wins a year over the last 30 years. They will be happy with anything that doesn't look like the past.
