Coaching Carousal 2025 Version

How many times does a program fire someone with no plan? Answer, a lot.

I am not sure who the next Saban, Cignitti, or Lane Kiffin is, but I am not sure there is a sure-fire formula to find them.

There definitely isn't otherwise people spending 10s of millions would find the formula. I believe the reality is there is quite a bit of luck involved.

The first thing out of this lady’s mouth in this interview shows in my opinion how stupid-conditioned everybody is to these completely ridiculous guaranteed money amounts in these coaching contracts:

In a nutshell, she asks why would somebody take the job at LSU given the circus that’s happening there?

Answer: because you’re freaking richer than a movie star if you get the contract.

Now I can see why Lane Kiffin or Dan Lanning won’t take the job; it’s because even though they could make a little bit more, it isn’t worth moving and they can just leverage the situation for a contract extension at their current gig anyway.

But for an up & comer? The answer is simple - all about the money.

Getting fired is practically a reward at this point, and it’s out of control.

Amen!

These coaches don't care if they win a title or not, do they want to, of course, does it matter to them, not really.

Imagine a contract like that for your job, "Here, if you fail and we can you, you get all your money". What??? Okay!

Almost reaching Tex A&M / Jimbo Fisher levels.

That buyout was $77.3 Million, including annual payments through 2031. He only got let go in 2023. He basically won the lottery.
I love that Freeze had a standing Sunday Tee Time at the Auburn CC and it was canceled today! Those Good Ole Boys don't **** around! Hahaha
