I think PSU is making a similar mistake we (Pederson) made in firing a successful coach in Solich and making comments in that they won't settle for mediocrity. Franklin got them a lot of wins.

I'm not too worried PSU will suffer much or for long. How they ever dug out from their pedo problem will always baffle me.

The school is close to a lot of recruits, it is the opposite of our issue. Easier to get them there from 3-4 hours away than 16-20.

I'm more surprised he went to Cal. Cal is a notoriously hard place to win at. Very few resources, UC system heavily in debt, very small fanbase, old stadium/weight room, etc.

They might as well just give the job to Terry Smith. The players love him and they looked better the second half of the season. Give him time and resources; could be worse.
