Coaching Changes

As the end of the year draws near and with the recent Carr announcement how are things going to shake out coaching wise. Right now the major job that are open or that more then likely will be open are Michigan, Nebraska, Texas A&M, UCLA, and Arkansas. If Miles leaves LSU throw them in there instead of Michigan because that is where he would be going. There is also the possibility that Tubberville goes to A&M and opens up the Auburn job. So what I’m wondering is where does everyone believe people will be when it is all said and done? Here is what I think will go down:

Michigan: Miles (you can’t turn your back on your alma mater)

Nebraska: Pelini (I think T.O. wants defense first)

LSU: Fisher (this is a long shot, I think they would want someone with HC experience)

A&M: Tubberville ($ can get his guy)

Auburn: Muschamp (they would be foolish to lose this guy)

UCLA: Leech (I think he wants to take the next step)

Arkansas: Davis (see A&M)

This would then open up the Carolina and Tech jobs and your guess is as good as mine who will get those gigs.

What do you people think will go down.

I just don't know about Michigan. There is rumor Carr will become associate AD there. There is also a rumor that him and Miles have issues. Then you throw in the fact that the staff will be retained for next year. For some reason, I think they hire from within. The other one I'm having trouble digesting is Arkansas. Davis was out of coaching for a little while. I can't see him jumping ship after just one year at North Carolina. Actually, I'm surprised he took the North Carolina job when he could have had the Miami job back. I can live with the rest of your assessment.

Tuberville claims he wants to stay at Auburn.

Tubby says he wants to stay at Auburn

Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville tried to ease one concern for Tigers fans leading up to Saturday's visit from Alabama, saying he planned to stay put "as long as they want us here."

He said Monday that he has no plans to leave for another job despite reports linking him to a potential job opening at Texas A&M to replace embattled coach Dennis Franchione.

'Course this means absolutely nothing at this point. If Auburn doesn't want him (read: won't pay him what he wants) he could be gone. Remember Auburn tried to hire a new HC behind his back a couple of years so he may be trying to stick it to the man.

Not sure why LSU would let their DC become a HC somewhere else if Miles leaves.

Also, I think Miles is not one of their guys (southerner, diehard SEC crazed fanatic). And they know this. I think they are overly confident that they can insert anyone at HC and get the job done b/c of their speed and talent alone. Which would be why they are not overly impressed with Pelini's value.

hmmm...who would get the ninja...?

kidding...

which davis are you talking about? Butch?

If Gary Pinkel wins a Big XII championship (I know, if), I can see him being considered for a bigger job.

Coming into this season, Gear Bear is lucky he still had a job in Columbia...and he's actually awakened a sleeping giant in a program that lies between K.C. and St. Loius...I think he'll stay there as long as he can.

Michigan- I don't personally Believe Les Miles will leave. Just my opinion. They'll hire from within.

NEbr- Maybe Pelini or Gill or one of a hundered other candidates.. Doubtful though. I have a hunch it will be Monte Kiffin. Again, just a hunch.

LSU. Les Miles. He isn't going anywhere. (Which Fisher do you mean? Not Jeff Fisher of the Tennn Titans! )

A&M: More probable spot for Pelini. But they have other options too

Auburn. Tubberville is staying put I think.

UCLA: I have No idea. Furthermore I don't care.

Arkansas No idea, but it won't be Butch Davis. He just signed a contract extension like 3 or 4 days ago.
