College Football Playoff Rankings

Three of the top four teams in ESPN's Defensive Efficiency rating (Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma) are in the playoff.

Nebraska was #63.

Have to think it'll be

1 - Clemson

4 - Michigan State

2 - Alabama

3 - Oklahoma

Think MSU has a great shot against Clemson
I don't know why, but I have this weird feeling that because OU didn't play an actual conference championship game, they'll put MSU in at #3 to take on Alabama.

Final Rankings:

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Michigan State
4. Oklahoma
5. Iowa
6. Stanford
7. Ohio State
8. Notre Dame
9. Florida State
10. North Carolina

Tom Osborne will be one of three members from the College Football Playoff committee who will rotate out of their roles after this year, chairman Jeff Long told reporters on Sunday.

That wasn't new news, but a reminder.

Also rotating out is former Big East commissioner Mike Tranghese and Mike Gould, former superintendent at the Air Force Academy.

...

Generally, members of the committee serve three-year terms, but the terms of the original participants are staggered for the purpose of building a rotation. The former Husker coach and athletic director officially ends his term in February.

My personal opinion is that the top 4 teams in the country right now are:

#1 Oklahoma

#2 Clemson

#3 Sparty

#4 Iowa

#5 Bama

#6 tOSU

Thats based off my own personal eye test. Clemson is and should be #1 based off record, but I think OU is too powerful compared to them. MSU and Iowa beat the hell out of eachother and I gained respect for both after that title game.

Alabama may be your SEC Champ, but it's only really impressive win to me was LSU. Who cares they beat Florida in the title game? FSU was more impressive in their victory over the Gators and I think FSU is over hyped. Sorry, not buying the Bama love. They find a way to beat Sparty and I'll give them some credit.

There was one statistically great offense in the SEC this season and that belonged to Ole Miss. Arkansas and LSU posted numbers that put them (a distant) second and third. Defensively, though, the SEC put up some sick defensive figures. Who's to say how much it has to do with lousy offense? The Big XII had offensive numbers that separated themselves from the FBS national averages as much as the SEC's defensive ones. Their defensive ones were much worse than the SEC's offensive ones, though. I'm just speaking of average ratings, too, to be clear.
