College Football Position Power Rankings

College Football Power Rankings

24 Joe Ganz QB Nebraska 6-1/210 Palos Heights, IL LW-NR

Ganz threw for 336 yards and three TDs against Baylor.

and

14 Shawn Watson Nebraska Offensive Coordinator LW-21

Nebraska has scored at least 30 in seven of its eight games.

Since most of the rankings rely solely on stats, was kind of amazed that Swift didn't make the cut as a receiver. I think he's a solid receiver, not elite by any estimation, but he puts up solid numbers.

Also, what is the media infatuation with Josh Freeman? Everytime I've watched him play he throws 2-3 INT's and doesn't look all that good, yet he continues to make everyone's list of top QB's. What gives?

Nothing really. The media completely forgets how tough the NFL is and what it takes to be successfull at that level.

What they see is a big guy who can throw far. Or someone who has running ability and can throw far. Then they downplay the costly turnovers or INTs.

A lot of guys were tabbed as studs in College and became a bust pick.

Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, Heath Shuler, Todd Marinovich, Andre Ware, Rick Mirer, Cade McNown, Jim Drunkenmiller, Tim Couch, Chris Rix, Chris Leak, Gino Toretta, Danny Wuerffel, etc..

From what I've seen, Freeman seems to be someone who will end up similar to the guys I mentioned.
